Who is Eligible?

The Canada Games Centre Legacy Access Fund (CGCLAF) was made possible by a contribution from the Support4Sport program.  It is designed to assist PSO provincial team and Canada Games team athletes in securing training time at the Canada Games Centre and to ensure that the facility becomes a home base for Nova Scotia’s high performance programs.

The program will provide 50% of the cost of facility rentals for gym, track or pool usage as well as for access to the testing and training programs offered by the Canadian Sport Centre Atlantic, up to a maximum of $5000 to any single PSO per year.

PSOs receiving funding for this program must also complete a user agreement with the Canada Games Centre.

Funding Amount:

The CGCLAF has a total investment of $400,000.  $350,000 is available to distribute to PSOs on behalf of their respective provincial programs over the life of the fund, to an approximate total of $35,000 per year.  $50,000 will be allocated directly to the Canadian Sport Centre Atlantic (CSCA) to be used in increments of approximately $5,000 per year to provide the necessary capacity for allowing provincial team access to CSCA services.

To be eligible for CGCLAF funding:
•    Provincial teams must submit an outline of the team training program and budget.
•    Canada Games sports must be receiving funding through the Support4Sport Canada Games Funding Program.

Allocation Process:

Decisions will be made on a monthly basis by a Support4Sport review committee. The committee includes representatives from Sport Nova Scotia, the Canadian Sport Centre Atlantic, and the Nova Scotia Department of Health & Wellness.

Application Timeline:
Organizations can apply by the 15th of each month.
